TREASURER JOB DESCRIPTION

Treasurer:
           It shall be the duty of the Treasurer to receive  receive all application fees, assessments, monthly dues, donations and all other monies which are the property of this Union, same to be deposited in a chartered bank or credit union to the credit of an account in the name of this Union.It shall be his responsibility to make all collections of monies whenever necessary from the members, giving receipts for same; he shall disburse all monies of this Union by cheque, duly signed by tile President and himself on authority of a duly executed order of a majority of the officers of this Union.  
He shall present to all regular meetings of this Union a financial statement of receipts and disbursements of all monies under his control; he shall report to the Executive Committee monthly the names of all members who are in arrears of dues or otherwise financially indebted to this Union and make such other reports, and promptly forward such reports, as may be called for or required of him by this Union or by the International Association of Fire Fighters; he shall turn all books and records relative to monies and expenditures over to the duly employed auditor of this Union in sufficient time for said auditor to present to the regular meeting in April in each year, a Certified Annual Report and at any other time when so ordered by the Executive Committee;, he shall attend all meetings of the Executive Committee for the purpose of advising that body relative to the finances and communications of and with this Union. He and the President shall alone have the authority to sign any and all contracts and agreements and shall be the custodian of tile seal. He shall be familiar with the “Manual of Common Procedure and Related Subjects” available from the International Association of Fire Fighters.
ELECTION RULES

3.         Election of Officers:
 
(a)        All elections for Officer positions with this Union will be for two (2) year terms with elections and terms defined as follows:
 
(i)            President whose term shall be of a duration of two (2) years, is to be elected in even numbered years;
 
(ii)          Secretary -  whose term shall be of a duration of two (2) years, to be elected in odd number years;
 
(iii)         Treasurer, whose term shall be of a duration of two (2) years to be elected in even numbered years.
 
(iv)           1st Vice-President, whose term shall be of a  duration of two (2) years, to be elected in odd number years.
 
(v)                2nd Vice – President, whose term shall be of a duration of two (2) years, to be elected in even numbered years.
 
(b)        Counting of ballots will be done by the Elections Committee.
 
(c)        Any member accepting nomination for an Officer position of this Local or as a delegate shall not be eligible to serve on the Election Committee.
 
(d)        Election shall be made from the nominations by a ballot of the members of this Union. Printed ballots shall be distributed to all fire stations and every member of the Union who receives a ballot will sign a form acknowledging its receipt.
 
(e)        The ballot will be taken on a day set by the Election Committee at the nominating meeting. The Election day shall not be less than two (2) nor more than sixteen (16) days following the May regular meeting. Should further balloting be necessary, it shall take place on a given date not more than fourteen (14) days following the pre­ceding ballot. There shall be no voting by proxy in any election of Officers.
 

(f)         Ballots may be cast on the above listed dates from 07:00 hours to 19:00 hours inclusive.

(g)   It shall require a majority of the ballots cast to be elected to the office of President of this Union. If no candidate receives a favourable majority on the first ballot, the candidate receiving the least number of votes will be dropped from the ballot and a second vote taken.
 
(h)        With the exception of the office of President, election of any Officer and/or Delegate will be decided by a plurality vote.
 
(i)         A candidate for election will be allowed one (1) representative at the counting of ballots if he/she so desires.
 
(j)         Following the counting of the ballots, the ballots and all other records of the election shall be turned over to the Secretary-Treasurer of this Union, who will preserve them for a period of one (1) year.
 
(k)        The installation of Officers who have been duly elected shall take place at the regular meeting in June of each year and said newly installed Officers shall take office immediately upon installation.
 
(l)         Notice of nomination meetings and election dates shall be posted in all fire stations fourteen (14) days prior to the said meetings and elections being held.
 
4.         Vacancy of Officer: Should there be a vacancy of an officer position of this Union whose term has in excess of four (4) months remaining in duration, due to resignation, death or removal for just cause, then such vacancy will be filled by election. The election will be for the remainder of the duration of the term and shall be held in accordance with the requirements specified in Article X of this Constitu­tion and Bylaws.

 Next there is a waiver page ( click I agree)

 

Click, Join a Team

 

Scroll until you find District of North Vancouver Firefighters 1,2,or 3 choose a team

( if your choice is full just choose another, the teams are all together but are split into teams of 12)

 

Next fill out the information page and

when you come to the box asking for a discount code enter firefighter1,firefighter2 or firefighter3 depending on the team you choose.

 

When you have completed the form correctly , with the right discount code, it will show that you owe $0 for the registration fee.( this has all ready been paid.)

 

If you would like to have your spouse join, that should be no problem. If the teams fill up we can add more teams as necessary.

 

And a friendly reminder!!

We hope that all who sign up will indeed do some fund raising for the team as this is a great cause and a great family event.
